Our 18 person crew spent a month in an Oregon forest creating two incredible lumber viewing decks and a terraced amphitheater aligned with the sun's path, to act as gateways and provide a viewing space for over 30,000 people during the August 21, 2017 total solar eclipse. My days were largely spent building the decks and railings, installing bamboo panel walls, and designing/installing decorative elements for the deck and railings. The entire crew was involved in creating, installing and perfecting the lighting and decor details. It was one of the most challenging, rewarding, and meaningful projects I have had the privilege to work on.
